Geology
Upturned Silurian dolomite that is grey to red to black in color. Vertical extent of almost 600 ft and a horizontal extent of 2,100ft by 1,500 ft.
Uses
Dolomite is an extremely useful mineral. It's used for everything from steel manufacturing and fertilizer to waste management and much more. Dolomite is also one principal source of ore for producing magnesium.
Size
According to DEM (digital elevation model) volumetric measurements, the claims contain 38,303,245.7 metric tons of Dolomite.
Environmental Impact
Due to the location of the deposit (southern NV), solar energy is readily available and can be used to produce power for the mining activities. Using solar energy and a different process for magnesium refining the carbon footprint of magnesium production can be lessened. Over 80% of the world's magnesium production is done in China using an inefficient process that uses coal power.
